BUSHFIRE ATTACK LEVEL (BAL)
Melbourne Soil Testing provides a Bushfire Attack Level Assessment (BAL) of your property and proposed construction. One of five categories will be assigned. This assesses your property’s fire danger index, which will depend on the slope of land, types of surrounded vegetation, and recommends building location .
BUSHFIRE MANAGEMENT OVERLAY (BMO)
Recommendations are also made where a Bushfire Management Overlay (BMO) is required , which will assess the requirements of CFA vehicles to access and exit the site as safely as possible .
This includes a site plan illustrating the defend-able space for 150m+ around the construction area, where to draw water for firefighting purposes , and showing access and exit tracks for fire fighting vehicles.
